With more than 30 years of surety experience, Steve Haney has executive oversight of Chubb’s global surety operations, which includes underwriting, product and business development, and overall strategy. Steve has served as President of The Surety and Fidelity Association and currently sits on the association’s board. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Penn State University.
Chief Operating Officer, North America Surety
Responsible for the underwriting, strategy, and profitable growth of Chubb's commercial and construction surety businesses in North America, Teresa Black has over 25 years of industry experience. Teresa holds an MBA in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Binghamton University.
Head of International Surety
Bruce Cliff has oversight of surety operations for Chubb Overseas. With over 35 years of surety experience, Bruce is responsible for advancing international surety’s underwriting, strategy, and profitability. Bruce holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration and Finance from Wittenberg University and a Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University.
Head of North America Construction Surety
With nearly two decades of surety experience, Eric Stickle oversees the underwriting, strategy, product management and P&L of construction surety products and services offered through the U.S. and Canada. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University.
Regional Leader, North America Commercial Surety
Chris Vahey is a skilled leader with surety experience since 1997. In his role as Regional Leader of Commercial Surety, Chris is responsible for managing the pipeline, driving new business growth, ensuring profitability, and maintaining stringent underwriting standards across territories. Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Risk Management & Insurance from Temple University.
Chief Underwriting Officer, North America Commercial Surety
With over 39 years of surety experience, Craig Gortner leads the Commercial Surety Home Office team and is responsible for underwriting guidance and strategic direction of the Commercial Surety portfolio. Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Siena College. Craig currently serves as the SFAA as Energy Chairman, is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and holds his AFSB (Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding) designation.
