How did you get involved with Chubb’s Directors & Officers and Entity Practice?

After starting my career in retirement plan services right out of college, a former classmate who had recently joined Chubb in Simsbury, CT referred me for a role as a Private/Not-for-Profit underwriter. I took to it immediately and haven’t looked back. I’m still just as interested, challenged, and enthusiastic about working in Directors & Officers every day.

What sets Chubb’s Directors & Officers and Entity Liability insurance coverage apart?

Chubb has been a market leader in private companies and not-for-profit D&O insurance for over 30 years. We take the time to understand the businesses we underwrite, offer the best coverage in the marketplace, and support it all with unparalleled claims service. The D&O coverage section in The ForeFront Portfolio is clear, broad, and flexible—allowing us to tailor coverage and underwrite any business, from pre-revenue startups to multi-billion-dollar firms.

What is the most important reason why a business should have Directors & Officers and Entity Liability insurance coverage?

Personal asset protection. A D&O policy may be the last line of indemnification before a director or officer has to pay out of pocket for a legal defense or settlement. There are many reasons why D&O is a key component of a comprehensive business insurance strategy—but for me, it’s the peace-of-mind factor that matters most.
