Making Positive Contributions

Our employees, local communities and our entire business benefits when we act responsibly and contribute positively.

As a Chubb employee, you can volunteer to serve the community where you live and work. The Chubb Global Day of Service offers the opportunity to dedicate a whole day to a specific project. Activities vary from office to office but are selected to achieve our philanthropic targets in areas such as education, environment, health and poverty.

Through the Chubb International Foundation and the Chubb European Charity Committee, we support a wide range of activities that give back. We’re proud to be able to support a number of great projects that achieve amazing things.

Employee Volunteers

One great example of how and where our employees’ voluntary efforts are making a positive contribution is the Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership, which is an independent charity supporting the education, training and development of young people. The programme motivates and supports young people to raise their levels of achievement and aspiration and to gain relevant work-related skills,  helping them into the world of work.

"Through the Reading Scheme, myself and other colleagues are partnered with a school in Tower Hamlets to help students with their reading skills once a week at lunchtime. I read with secondary school pupils - English is not the first language for many of the students at this school, so sometimes they need extra help...At the end of each year, we take the students on a day trip to reward them for their commitment and at CHUBB we host a lunch and a tour of the Lloyd's building."

Supporting Personal Fundraising

Many of our employees personally support various charities and receive fundraising support from Chubb through our charity-matching scheme. What’s more, our Give As You Earn programme allows employees in some areas of Europe to donate a percentage of their salary, which we match, to support their charity.

Our employees across the world can suggest how we can support registered charities through our Community Support Constitution.

Initiatives include:

  • Cancer
  • Heart and stroke
  • Asthma and arthritis
  • Mental health
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Physical disabilities
  • Learning difficulties
  • Issues affecting older people

ClimateWise

Through our people we work to reduce our impact on the environment. Chubb is one of the founding organisations of ClimateWise - a group of leading companies in the insurance market who are taking action on climate change and reporting publicly on their performance.
