Chubb was founded just 30 years ago.

Since then, we’ve dramatically developed our offering, the range of customers we serve and our reach across the world. Today, our global footprint spans 54 countries.

We employ 1,400 people in the UK and Ireland alone, and serve over 12 million customers across Europe, Eurasia & Africa.

Here are key milestones we reached along the way.

1985

A capacity crisis emerged within the US insurance marketplace for excess liability insurance. Recognising the customer need, a number of pioneers help to pool capital and create a new insurance company. In a hotel room in Bermuda, Chubb is born. our-story-1984.png
