Justina K. Rivera is Supervising Attorney of Chubb’s New York City House Counsel firm, Yapchanyk, Prezioso & Yang. Prior to joining Chubb, Ms. Rivera served as General Counsel and Deputy Comptroller for Legal Affairs at the New York City Office of the Comptroller, where she oversaw the resolution and settlement of claims and litigation filed against or on behalf of the City of New York, advised senior leadership on legal and policy matters, and managed the Office’s legal affairs. Before her tenure at the Comptroller’s Office, Ms. Rivera served as a Trial Attorney, Senior Counsel, and Assistant Borough Chief with the New York City Law Department and practiced at Harris Beach PLLC, where she represented clients in complex tort, product liability, toxic tort, medical malpractice, and catastrophic injury matters.
Ms. Rivera has more than 16 years of litigation experience representing governmental entities, insurers, and private clients in high-exposure matters in state and federal courts. She has significant experience leading all phases of complex litigation, including dispositive and evidentiary motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediation, trial preparation, jury selection, and the supervision and development of litigation attorneys.
