Olivier J. Kirmser is the Managing Attorney for Chubb's New Jersey House Counsel firm of Kirmser, Cunningham & Skinner. His current practice concentrates on complex litigation in the field of general liability, construction defect, construction accidents, product liability, director & officers liability and employment discrimination. He has tried more than 20 jury trials involving general liability, director & officers liability and employment discrimination. He has appeared in both federal and state courts and has extensive appellate experience. He has been with the firm since 1997.
Mr. Kirmser was nominated for, accepted into and attended Chubb's Leadership Development Seminar in 2014.
Mr. Kirmser has had success in marketing the firm in the technology field with Chubb and the outside legal community. He lectured at The Emerging Cyber Risk Insurance Market Seminar at Seton Hall University School of Law, which was attended by nearly 200 attorneys and insurance representatives. His presentation focused on "Gaps in Standard Lines Policies" as it applies to cyber security liability and privacy risks
Mr. Kirmser gave a very well received power point presentation on "Causes of Action Against Associations" applying the breach of fiduciary duty with respect to the Condominium Act and discussing the two-prong test requirement and the business judgment rule.
Mr. Kirmser has served as the District Secretary of District XIII Fee Arbitration Committee since January 2014. He was appointed by the Office of Attorney Ethics of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He is involved in promoting the firm's standing in our community and New Jersey by acting as District Secretary of District XIII Fee Arbitration Committee which includes Hunterdon, Somerset and Warren Counties. As District Secretary he manages 19 panel members. He is also responsible to recruit attorney and non-attorney members to become future panel members.
Mr. Kirmser's prior experience includes working for the law firm of Trapasso, Dolan & Hollander (1992-1993) and the Office of William E. Staehle (1993-1994). He was a Law Clerk to Honorable Leo Yanoff, Judge of the Superior Court (1991-1992). Mr. Kirmser speaks fluent French.
